Pandit D.V.Paluskar, the extraordinary gifted son of the legendary Pandit Vishnu Digambar, was born in 1921. He was barely ten when he lost his father. Being deprived of his father's tutelage, he learnt music from his cousin Pandit Chintamanrao Paluskar, Pandit Narayanrao Vyas and Pandit Vinayakrao Patwardhan. He also had the benefit of receiving training from Pandit Mirashibuwa.
Pandit D.V. Paluskar endowed the highly complex Gwalior gayaki with a depth of perception and a rich emotive quality. His music like his personality was straightforward and touched the very heartstings.
His sudden death in October 1955, at the age of 34, is probabaly one of the most tragic happenings in the annals of Hindustani Music.
With purpose of reviving the memory of this great vocalist, a unique programme has been divised by his disciple and noted vocalist Pandit Sharad Sathe. This two-hour programme titled 'Nadabrahmayogi' covers listening of Paluskar's recordings, ably supported by screening of his rare photographs and apt commentary in spoken word.
Assisted by his wife, Sunetra, Pandit Sharad Sathe composed music for a feature on Miya Tansen that was broadcast on All India Radio, Mumbai.
